“Famous Thai Dessert”

Beet root & Passionfruit, Taro & Butterfly Pea, Coconut, and Pumpkin flavored ice-cream. (Dairy free!)

“Famous Thai Dessert.” Might as well be considered part of the Thai language, because I’ve heard these words every day since I’ve gotten here. As I’ve mentioned repeatedly now, Thais LOVE their food. They love sharing it with newbies, and have fed me atleast one random sample (usually more) every day.

Aside from snacks, a huge deal in Thailand is dessert. It happens at basically… every meal. And between meals. And while you’re sleeping. Just kidding.

Breakfast = fruit, sweet coffee, or Thai Coffee (coffee, condensed milk, and sugar) on your way to work. I must abstain, as I am lactose-intolerant.

Lunch = Soda, juice, ice cream, fresh fruit wafer cookies, caramel-covered nuts, dried and sugared/salted Tamarind, something coconutty, or some sort of flavored goo.

Dinner = Unique fruit, sticky rice + sweetened Durian, Mango, Pineapple, or coconut, coconut milk desserts, or rarely, moon cake (during autumn).
